ABOUT THE PROGRAM…

The Dalgas Yoga, Vitality & Joy/Love of Life & GuruDharam Sacred Medicine Yoga Therapy Training is guided by exceptional teachers. The course is delivered as intensive course of fascinating yogic science, philosophy, information and direct experience.

Here the sacred science of Yoga and particular Kundalini Yoga, is demystified and deconstructed to give a deeper understanding of how Yoga and Kundalini energy work.

Students learn how to apply yoga therapeutically in the one-to-one and small group settings to alleviate distress and suffering and empower the individual on their journey of self-healing.

CURRICULUM

Over the course of the modules, we examine the different bio-systems of the human body from a holistic paradigm, presenting them both in health and harmony and in disease and disharmony. The primary focus of the program is learning to work with:

  • the mind,

  • emotions

  • the energy body.

We integrate both western and eastern perspectives in our work. The program covers:

  • western anatomy & physiology,

  • psychology,

  • neuroscience and research on yoga and yoga therapy.

  • you also study yogic anatomy and the subtle body in depth, looking at several frameworks and systems for addressing the energetic body and its imbalances.

  • These include the elements, meridians, organs, doshas, chakras, 10 bodies and vayus. Perspectives from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda serve to illuminate our understanding of yoga and yoga therapy.

The extensive course curriculum includes study of the energetic physiology and pathology of, and specific interventions for numerous conditions including stress, burnout, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, addiction, insomnia, life transitions and other common ailments. We learn many tools for helping our clients to find their way back to balance and wellbeing, which are detailed in the following section. The program provides a solid foundation in ethics and self-inquiry as a practitioner and places a strong emphasis on personal development.

This course is a GuruDharam Course, you receive 350 hours of class room teaching with GuruDharam on this special Yoga Therapy Training.

As such, the training can also be a transformative and self-empowering process for the student.

Students learn clinical skills including: how to take a case history, analyze the resultant picture and create a personalized regime to help empower the person to move from suffering to wellbeing.

They also learn how to adjust and evolve their treatment plans based on feedback from their clients.

The tools that students learn include:

  • Yoga postures and sets called “kriyas” specifically selected to accelerate the healing process.

  • Meditations to cleanse the subconscious of mental debris and self-limiting patterns.

  • Acupressure points to balance and stimulate the chakras and the meridians.

  • How to add or remove heat, cold, dryness, dampness and wind from the body.

  • Spiritual symbols and affirmations and how to apply them effectively

  • Pranayama to purify and synchronize the levels of consciousness and express transformation.

  • Visualization to develop the faculty of projection and self-healing.

  • Yogic lifestyle guidelines including dietary principles and the energetics of foods and kitchen herbs.

  • A deep understanding of the subtle mechanics of Yoga and Kundalini Yoga, which allows the practitioner to apply yogic tools with skill and discernment, choosing the right kriyas, meditations and tools for different disharmonies.

All of the above aspects of the course are drawn together in the clinical portion of the program, including case studies, practicum and group supervision.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The program is an in-person format. It is comprised of core modules:

  • 100 hours of Yoga Anatomy – 100 hours so you qualify for the therapy to be without VAT accordingly to Danish tax laws (qualifies you for to be registered for lønsum)

  • Anatomy has 6 time 6 hours on-line as an introduction*) 36 hours. Anatomy teacher Angela will prepare you for the 2 large blocks of Anatomy so the larger blocks will be efficient and profound and basics are covered.

  • Followed by 2 blocks of 5 days of Anatomy in person a total of 64 hours and additional there will also be homework and a completing written work to conclude Anatomy. The Anatomy course is a stand alone part of the course, but necessary to be passed to be certified Yoga Therapist

  • 350 hours in person training with Guru Dharam - a total of 6 modules delivered as intensives over 6 days each. Each module is with an additional 6 hours of online follow-up meetings and 3 hours of recorded content.

  • Personal practice and home study are an integral part of the training. Each module includes homework assignments and assessments, including a meditation practice for each of the 6 core modules, of a 40-120 day duration. These meditation homework practices are assigned as both personal and professional development, working to enhance the presence and caliber of the practitioner.

  • There will be 25 hours of yoga therapy delivery to be submitted as written assignments for written feedback.

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Certification Track Certification in yoga therapy at the 500-hour Admission requirements:

-200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate

-One year of yoga practice

-One year of yoga teaching Continuing Education Track This track grants certificates of attendance for individual modules* and does not lead to certification as a yoga therapist. It is intended for yoga teachers from all traditions, for alternative therapists, counselors, energy healers, paramedics, medical personnel and anyone from allied fields who wants to understand the mechanics of Yoga and Kundalini Yoga more deeply.

Admission requirements:

Accreditation of Prior Learning/Accreditation of Prior Experience by application.

Intermediate Certificate Program (500 hours)

Certified by both Kundalini Medicine & Yoga Alliance Professionals The 500-hour program requirements:

Modules KM1-KM6 in Person and 6 follow-up meetings on-line after each module

Anatomy & Physiology 36 hours on-line and 64 hours in person

Group Supervision in person (the 3 days in November 20223)

Professional Practice & Personal Development Part One plus supervised case studies, presentation projects and a passing grade on all examinations.
